About Us
Background:
The North Georgia Screamin' Eagles started late in the 2006-07 season, and joined the United States Power Soccer Association (USPSA) shortly thereafter. The Eagles won it's 1st tournament in Alpharetta in 2007, and the team finished in last place in their 1st appearance at the USPSA Eastern Regional tournament. The team improved in the 2007-08 season, practicing once a week at the South Hall Community Center n/k/a the Mulberry Creek Community Center. The team normally practice every Sunday starting at 3pm, except after a game a Saturday. The Screamin' Eagles have won back to back Southeastern League Championships, and the last Eastern Regionals Championship in DII. The USPSA changed from two divisions to 5 Conferences, and the team competes in the President's conference and in the Southeastern League, which includes events in Fl, Al, TN, NC, GA, & MO.
To compete, there are many needs to be met including custom guards, transportation,
wheelchair maintenance, batteries, personal assistance services, hotel,
meals, and more. This makes Power Soccer a very expensive sport, especially
since most of the disabled athletes only receive Social Security. The team
is on a mission to win the President's Conference Cup Championship, which
will be held June 24-25, 2010 at the MCCC
in Flowery, Branch, GA.
